Parents for Heart

University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital supports Parents for Heart®. Parents for Heart is an independent nonprofit organization that provides mutual support and education for parents of children who have congenital heart defects, hypertension or acquired heart problems.

Camp Odayin
University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital supports Camp Odayin. Camp Odayin provides a residential camping experience for young people with heart disease, where campers discover outdoor, athletic and creative activities in a safe and medically supervised environment.


Children's Cancer Research Fund
Children's Cancer Research Fund is dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer by providing funds to the University of Minnesota for research and training relating to the prevention, treatment and cure of childhood cancer. The organization also educates the public about childhood cancer and supports quality-of-life programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families.


The Juvenile Arthritis March (JAM) is a family-focused event sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. JAM raises funds and creates awareness to fight arthritis. It also helps to educate people that kids get arthritis too. JAM takes place at the Mall of America every March and approximately 1,500 walkers participate in the event.

Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest, creates, finds and supports programs that provide a caring community for families with seriously ill children while increasing children's access to health care services. The Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities provides a home-away-from-home for families facing critical pediatric illness and can accommodate up to 48 families on any given night.


The Minnesota Medical Foundation (MMF) raises funds for children’s health research, education, and service at the University of Minnesota. Through the generosity of its benefactors, MMF helps make it possible for University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital to conduct leading-edge research that has saved or enhanced the lives of thousands of children. Viking's Children's Fund
The Viking Children's Fund awards 50% of all funds to the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics for the support of research into the major diseases and disorders of childhood. The remaining 50% is distributed to non-profit organizations that focus their efforts in the areas of education and family services supporting the well being of children in the Upper Midwest. 

Adopt A Room was formed in September 2004 by a group of professionals with expertise and vision in business, medicine, government, education, fundraising, architecture, construction and more.  Adopt A Room's purpose is to create a win-win-win situation for hospitals, sponsors, and most importantly, sick children, by creating child-friendly, nurturing hospital room environments.
