University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital provides a variety of treatments for children with urologic conditions ranging from urinary tract infections to complex congenital conditions. Our team has special expertise in hypospadias, urinary obstruction, urine reflux, renal stones and voiding dysfunction. They also participate in the only multidisciplinary center in the region providing comprehensive care for children with disorders of sexual differentiation.
Physicians at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital are leaders in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and endoscopic) surgery and were the first in the Upper Midwest to perform robotic assisted laparoscopic urologic surgery on a pediatric patient. Dozens of children have benefited from this breakthrough technology which allows patients to have major renal and pelvic reconstructive surgery through tiny incisions. They also get to enjoy a much more rapid recovery and return to activities.
