Working to ease the grip of pain
Pain has its place to help us know when to take it easy. Sometimes, pain is excessive and can, and should be, controlled.
Pain can be a product of many factors, from behavior to social variables. From attitutdes and emotions to sensations and communication, there are ways to address these and other behaviors. We use a patient-centered, biopsychosocial approach that incorporates interventional, medical, physical and psychological therapies. Each is tailored to your child's needs and implemented along with you child's primary-care provider.
University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital specialists from many disciplines work together to prevent, evaluate, diagnos, treat painful disorders. Our team of specialists includes pain experts from neurology, physical medicine, rehabilitation and psychology. Such specialists offer advanced therapies, including drug treatment, pain rehabilitation and management, injection therapies, and implants to address complex pain.
