Treatment for a variety of conditions

If your child has stomach problems, University of Minnesota Children's Hospital is where you want your doctor to send your child for care.

If you have a child with newborn jaundice, complications of cystic fibrosis or chronic pancreatitis, put your child in our hands. Also among our programs and services are transplant options to treat gastrointestinal conditions.

Our outpatient clinics include a team of dietitians and psychology professionals who provide their opinion when it will help make a better care plan for your child. Tests and treatments that will be more comfortable for your child if he or she is asleep are done in a child-friendly environment.

National leaders then and now
Physicians at the University of Minnesota were some of the first in the 1960s to enter the then-new subspecialty of pediatric gastroenterology. The head of the department, Harvey Sharp, MD, retired, led the department to the national stature it enjoys today.
