CaringBridge is a free, easy-to-use Internet service developed to keep friends and family informed during a child’s medical journey.
The University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview has computers located on pediatric units for family use. By visiting www.caringbridge.org, families may quickly and easily create a secure, personalized web page to begin journal entries and display photographs for their caring community. Visitors to the web page can leave messages of support and encouragement in the guestbook.
CaringBridge empowers families to focus energy on their loved one who requires healing, while maintaining open communication with their support community. Sometimes distance, time, and finances can limit the support that friends and family are able to extend during complex medical experiences. CaringBridge becomes another avenue for friends and family to stay connected.
“CaringBridge is a blessing,” one family member says. “We easily update family without having to deal with lots of phone calls and questions during an exhausting time. And the comforting, encouraging messages lift us up and give us strength so we can face tomorrow.”
This service is available to everyone. Ask a Child-Family Life Specialist if you would like assistance in getting started. Additional support is available through CaringBridge.
