The Audiology Clinic at University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview provides comprehensive hearing evaluations and a variety of services to help children with hearing loss maximize their communication potential.

Children are tested using age-appropriate methods including auditory brain stem testing for newborns and infants. Play-based testing is used for toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. Our licensed audiologists have advanced expertise in evaluating and treating a wide range of hearing impairments and prescribing and programming hearing instruments, including cochlear implants.

The Lions loaner hearing aid bank for children and approved adults is located within our clinic. Hearing aids are available for extended loan to infants newly identified with hearing loss.

Aural rehabilitation is the process in which children and families learn how to use listening skills for communication at home and in school. Our aural rehabilitation specialists offer assessments and treatments as well as consultation to educational teams.
