Premature birth, medical conditions, illness or surgery can delay or interrupt a child’s normal growth and development. Rehabilitation therapies at University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview can help children reach their maximum potential – mentally and physically.
We handle the simplest to most complex developmental needs of children. Our occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists are specially trained to evaluate and care for children of all ages and all stages of development. Our team uses standardized tests and other evaluation methods to develop an individualized, age-appropriate rehabilitation plan and establish time-limited goals tailored to each child’s needs.
Our rehabilitation therapists collaborate with hospital staff, family practice and specialty physicians and community services, including social services, home care, school systems and other community resources.
