University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview provides a full range of expert care for lung, airway and chest diseases of children including asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic cough and breathing problems associated with congenital abnormalities of the airways and lung, with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, with neurologic and muscular diseases, with immunodeficiency, with cancer and with infections.
For cystic fibrosis, our experts provide care that sets the benchmark used by other programs throughout the country. Our programs are made possible by our research that provides the knowledge needed to advance care for these diseases. When appropriate, we offer opportunities to participate in clinical trials of new therapies.
We offer this care in ways that support our patients and their families. We provide a pulmonary nurse consultation line and a pediatric pulmonologist is always on call. Our nurses assist in coordinating complex care among us and other consultants.
