Palliative care specialists at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital address the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of children and adolescents who are living with life-threatening conditions.

A team of physicians, nurses, child-family life specialists, social workers and chaplains provide palliative care services at our hospital. The team offers the services simultaneously with patients’ other medical treatments.

As part of our pediatric palliative care services, art, poetry and music therapists work with our patients. Such therapies can help patients manage stress, alleviate pain, express feelings, enhance memory and improve communication.
