University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital has one of the country’s largest pediatric ophthalmology programs and provides care to children and adolescents beginning in infancy. Our pediatric ophthalmologists work closely with orthoptists who have special training in examining children. In addition, our ophthalmologists often collaborate with neurologists, oncologists, geneticists and rheumatologists, among other specialists, to provide care to patients who have eye anomalies that result from other conditions.
University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital collaborates with the National Institutes of Health Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group on researching and incorporating study findings into treatment plans for various eye conditions. We also conduct research studies that affect international treatment protocols.
