University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital neuropsychologists specialize in assessing and treating the cognitive and emotional needs of children and teens who have neurological conditions. Often, our specialists provide care to patients who have brain tumors, brain injuries, hydrocephalus, multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders and other neurological and developmental conditions.
Our neuropsychologists provide neuropsychological assessments and consultation to children and families — and to referring providers. Children who might need an assessment include those who demonstrate:
• Problems learning
• Uncontrollable emotions
• Difficulty with impulse control
• Unusual behaviors
• Difficulty organizing and planning
• Memory problems
