Our pediatric cardiology team is currently conducting clinical and epidemiologic studies of;

• metabolic syndrome
• insulin resistance
• cardiovascular risk factors

In addition, our team is exploring new minimally invasive ways to repair heart lesions. 

Outcomes

Children with congenital heart defects have the best care available in the state at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital — the only Minnesota hospital where cardiothoracic surgeons and interventional cardiologists work side-by-side in the same room to repair a child’s congenital heart defect. These hybrid procedures are performed in a specially designed pediatric catheterization lab, combining the best of open-heart surgery with less invasive interventional cardiology. Read more.
