Our pediatric cardiology team is currently conducting clinical and epidemiologic studies of;
- metabolic syndrome
- insulin resistance
- cardiovascular risk factors
In addition, our team is exploring new minimally invasive ways to repair heart lesions.
Outcomes
Changing the way hearts are repaired in Minnesota’s only pediatric surgical catheterization lab Children with congenital heart defects have the best care available in the state at University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview — the only Minnesota hospital where cardiothoracic surgeons and interventional cardiologists work side-by-side in the same room to repair a child’s congenital heart defect.
