Behavioral Health Services at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive mental-health and substance-abuse services to children and adolescents. We have Minnesota’s only behavioral unit with services exclusively for children ages 12 and younger. In addition, we have one of the largest inpatient mental-health programs for children in the nation.
Behavioral Health Services at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital has a national reputation for mental-health and substance abuse care. The Behavioral Health Services staff has credentials, certification and/or licenses in their particular disciplines.
The staff collaborates with Behavioral Healthcare Providers (BHP), a large network of psychologists, therapists and psychiatrists, to provide a full range of mental-health and chemical-dependency services. Within the BHP network are nurses, clinical supervisors, chemical-dependency counselors, special-education teachers, recreational therapists, chaplains, family therapists and cultural liaisons.
