Program Services
The program is a fve-hour schedule that includes three group sessions and two periods of academic instruction of 60 minutes each. One session is led by a master’s level adolescent therapist, one by a certified chemical dependency counselor and the other by a variety of rehabilitative staff who will facilitate a problem-solving group with a focus on coping strategies, conflict management techniques and asset skill building. Once each week a multi-family therapy group is offered.
Family Involvement
Family involvement is a central component of our philosophy. Family members are expected to participate in the assessment and treatment process. Each young person and his or her family is provided with the support, education and treatment they need to improve their emotional health and to recognize the harmful role chemical abuse has played in their lives. Adolescents develop realistic skills for relief from symptoms, and to maintain a healthy, chemical-free lifestyle. Multiple Family Therapy groups provide families with the opportunity to learn and support one another and we ask that family members attend regularly. Outside community agencies and referral sources are essential members of an adolescent’s treatment network. Our consistent communication procedures encourage and maintain open interaction among all involved persons. Treatment update calls are made to professionals, parents, and community therapists who provide treatment to the client/family on a regular basis.
