Substance Abuse Medical Stabilization and Assessment Track
Detoxification and medical stabilization includes physician-supervised withdrawal from mood altering chemicals. It also includes nursing care, psychological assessment, physical exam, and psycho-social interview with a trained evaluation counselor. Pertinent information is collected from the referral source, family members, and concerned individuals. An individualized treatment plan is developed, working with the system the youth comes from. Parents are an essential part of the team. The treatment team, in collaboration with the adolescent’s community support system will design a plan that best meets the needs of the youth; the team will also assist with next level placement if indicated.
Comprehensive Assessment Track
Patients in this program have both a primary chemical dependency diagnosis and a mental health diagnosis or have issues in both areas that are of concern and need further assessment. The goal of this track is to assess, address, and stabilize both issues at the same time. Families are involved through treatment plan input and participation in individual family therapy as well as multiple family therapy. The team will work in collaboration with the youth’s community support system to make recommendations for the next level of care and assist with that transition.
Dual Treatment Track
The patients in this track have been diagnosed with a dual disorder; both mental health and chemical dependency. The goal of this track is to initiate treatment while stabilizing their dual symptoms. Treatment is delivered by the members of the treatment team in a highly structured environment. Families are involved through treatment plan input and participation in individual family therapy as well as multiple family therapy. Once the patient has stabilized, the team will assist with placing the youth in the next level of care.
Comprehensive Assessment Track and Dual Treatment Track Treatment Team
The treatment team consists of physicians from psychiatry and internal medicine, nursing, chemical dependency counselors, mental health therapists, therapeutic recreation specialists, and family therapists.
