MINNEAPOLIS (June 27, 2008)—Fairview Health Services moved up two places over last year in the 10th annual Verispan IHN 100®, a ranking of the country’s top integrated health care systems.
Fairview, an integrated health care system employing more than 22,000 people, is ranked 19th in the nation in 2008. Last year, Fairview ranked 21st.
“Consistently moving up in the rankings and placing in the Top 100 are a reflection of our ongoing efforts to align our services more effectively and efficiently to better serve our communities,” says Fairview President and CEO Mark Eustis. “Fairview employees, providers and partners are collectively focused on making Fairview the best health care system for America, in partnership with the University of Minnesota, by consistently delivering exceptional clinical care and creating patient and family experiences that are second to none. I'm thrilled with the progress we're making toward that vision."
Verispan analyzed 570 non-specialty, local and regional networks in the United States. Rankings are based on each integrated health care system’s ability to operate as a unified organization in eight categories: integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians.
