The International Interior Design Association selected the Adopt A Room design as winner of 2008 FAB Grand Award and FAB Award for Best Design in Healthcare.

Two Adopt A Rooms were built at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview in November 2006. The rooms were inspired by two fathers, Brian Schepperle and David Millington, who knew first hand what seriously ill children and their families experience in the hospital and wanted to make a difference.

They designed Adopt A Room hospital rooms to be colorful, customizable and bigger, with more space for parents and other family members. All of the rooms at the new home for the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview, will follow the Adopt A Room concept and design.
